Testimony to His Name

At the Monday Night Women’s study at the Cook’s, a few of us gathered to discuss John 9 and how Jesus healed the blind beggar. We talked about handicapped people and how God uses them. I remembered a poem I wrote about ten or fifteen years ago. I also wrote another one, too. I’ll have to get this one out as well as the other one.

A Testimony to His Name
@1996 Linda Barrett
In the beginning of this present age,
God created us in His own image
Making everyone His unique creations
Each of us with different limitations
Some of our sisters and brothers
Are more special than the others
Jesus Christ said this best
The handicapped make God’s works manifest
The Lord said they were not to blame
But to be testimonies to His name
We are members of Christ’s body
Blessed with our own special ability
Our handicaps may be great or small
Only God sees past them all
When He looks upon the seeing and the blind,
He knows what’s in their minds
His eyes peer into each heart
Judging both the simple and the smart
To Him, we are all the same
Serving as Testimonies to His Name
