Texas Congressman Pete Olson has introduced legislation that calls for closer scrutiny of Federal funds that go to pay for abortion services at the State level. The "Taxpayer Conscience Protection Act of 2009" seeks to stop the "secret" funding of organizations that perform and promote abortion using Federal taxpayer money. The controversial allocation of these funds is often hidden from the public eye by tucking the funding away in lengthy Federal bills and current laws do not require adequate reporting of where funding comes from.
