Editha Makaya, the wife of our beloved Bishop Sadock, has returned from Nairobi without successful diagnosis or treatment. Her 20 year history of serious migraine headaches continues. Bishop Makaya hopes to send her to Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania. This is very disheartening for the Makayas. Please pray!
Harvest USA is a ministry “of truth and mercy, proclaiming Christ as Lord to a sexually broken world and partners with and equips the church to transform the lives of those affected by sexual sin.” Harvest has lost over 100 individual donors and over one dozen supporting churches in the last 18 months. The projected deficit for the end of their fiscal year (June 30th) will be about $80,000. If you are looking for a worthwhile recipient of tax deductible gifts outside of your normal giving, the rector highly commends this ministry to you. Please see their web site for more information: www.harvestusa.org.

Another Way to Support Jesus Focus Food Pantry: For those who forget to shop or have difficulty carrying bags, we have a free will offering basket in the Narthex Area for your dollars which will be used to purchase food and Bibles for the needy in our area - with unemployment so rampant the need is greater than ever. Stop by any morning of the week and you will see how many people visit the Pantry. Some of the women now attend St. John’s monthly communion service the first Wednesday of the month. What a privilege for St. John's to support Jesus Focus in this very “hands on” ministry! They will know we are Christians by our love!!

Dinner Fellowship Round Robin: They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people (Acts 2:46-47). St. John’s is a distributed congregation and having folks over to dinner is often a way to break the ice and begin a real bond of fellowship with someone new. The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board. Please see David or Nan Hee Hanson with any questions.
